Dear Parishioners and Friends,
This year I am turning 60 years old, a milestone in my life. I am so grateful to God who gave me my life and gave me a family where I grew up as a man of God, learning the ways of life and the ways of God. I was born June 26, 1964 to Rodolfo Cruz and Socorro Toque. They raised me together with my four siblings, a brother (Fr. Robert-Joel) and three sisters (Susan, Marites, and Mary Grace).
After high school I entered the seminary and by the grace of God, was ordained to the priesthood on June 22, 1991. In 2001, my local bishop sent me here in the USA to help a parish, who has Filipino contingents until I was eventually incardinated to the Archdiocese of Newark in 2012.
My dear parishioners, you are my family now. I know I was ordained to the priesthood to serve you. I am aware that I became a priest not for my own sake, but for you whom Lord Jesus loves so dearly. Please share my joy as I celebrate this milestone and let us thank the Lord Jesus for the gift of the priesthood on my 33rd year anniversary.
God bless you all, and enjoy your summer!
Very Rev. Alexander T. Cruz
